I think I’ve now completed the elastic template, the last day and half have been taken up with creating an elastic horizontal navigation bar with the use of a styled unordered list.
The time has been mostly taken up by creating sets of images for use on this nav bar so that they all line up accordingly even during the scaling. The scaling is almost perfect slipping slightly in Fire Fox but only at very large font sizes and I’m of the opinion that these users that require font at 25px and higher will not to offended.
An out standing issue is that a number of images are used on the templates that are not being applied via the style sheet. To overcome this I’m looking into generating these elements with an unobtrusive javaScript that will detect whether the css is in use or usable by the client and then write the image tags if required.
This is my online portfolio, showcasing work created in the seven years I've been a graphic and web designer.
I also use the site as a development area where ideas and techniques are explored and commented upon.
