For the UK general election the Mail Online produced a package of content which ran for the 5 weeks up until the general election on the 5th of May. This coverage was contained within a specially created channel which included full editorial coverage of the campaigns, blogs written by the political editors of both the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday and a flash base interactive map of the UK showing the results as they happened on election night. This map also included the data and results from the 2001 election.
My role was to direct the graphic design of the channel for use on both sites and to incorporate the same functionality into This is London. I also authored, styled and created the interactive Flash map. This involved incorporating XML feeds and base vector artwork maps from 3rd party suppliers into suitable formats. This meant creating artwork suitable for use within Flash and the writing of action script 2.0 to load the XML and subsequently use this within the map application to display visually the results.
This is my online portfolio, showcasing work created in the seven years I've been a graphic and web designer.
I also use the site as a development area where ideas and techniques are explored and commented upon.
