The Mail online enhances the editorial content by allowing readers to submit personal comments on almost all articles published on the site. The integration of user generated content into a commercial news site is one of the first examples in the UK of this type of activity and user interaction.
The system and user workflow is based closely on the commenting user journey of blogs therefore following a number of the design patterns in use in this field.
Readers do not have to register to leave a comment however their name, email address and location are recorded for publication and further communication if the comment is picked up by the papers for publication.
Examples of reader comments can be found here.
This is my online portfolio, showcasing work created in the seven years I've been a graphic and web designer.
I also use the site as a development area where ideas and techniques are explored and commented upon.
