The navigation design and structure created for This is Money needed to allow the inclusion and removal of channels on a regular basis. Also required was a visual style that differentiated the main channels and sections from parts of the site, which were to be given less visual importance.
The colour spectrum design allows for the inclusion of extra channels when required keeping the colour spectrum look and feel at all times. Each main channel once open has a set of sub channels further dividing the related content for the user.
Secondary or sub navigation follows the main links using a less graphical style to avoid over complicating the sites navigational structure and impressing upon the user the main navigation's importance.
All the look and feel and styling is created with the use of xhtml unordered lists and css, this results in a navigation which is fast loading, consistent, easily maintained and degrades in such a way that it remains fully function in the most simplest of forms.
This is my online portfolio, showcasing work created in the seven years I've been a graphic and web designer.
I also use the site as a development area where ideas and techniques are explored and commented upon.
